Gladwell on social media
Some insightful writing from [Malcolm Gladwell](http://gladwell.com/) in the [New Yorker](http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2010/10/04/101004fa_fact_gladwell) on social media. This is the message of the piece:
> The instruments of social media are well suited to making the existing social order more efficient. They are not a natural enemy of the status quo.
And good comparisons between tight-knit hierarchies and loose networks:
> No one believes that the articulation of a coherent design philosophy is best handled by a sprawling, leaderless organizational system.
